It’s that time again, time for ‘The Gussies’ - officially The Gustave Trouvé Awards for Excellence in Electric Boats and Boating. This is the 6th Awards and Nominations are now open.
New this year is the category for electric Personal Watercraft, e-Foils, e-Boards, Water Scooters and other Water Toys.

Winner of an Innovation Route Award at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival and a 2025 Multihull of the Year Award, the MODX70 electric catamaran is picking up praise as a handsome luxury yacht that can sail literally forever without emitting a single molecule of carbon dioxide or any other pollutant.
Highfield Boats and Flux Marine electric motors have announced a new rigging partnership that will put electric motors into the production schedule of a major boat manufacturer and get electric motors onto the sterns of the world leader in aluminum rigid inflatable boats (RIBs).
High power electric outboard motor manufacturer ExploMar is riding high after a stretch of race victories, technology leaps and new partnerships in the electric boating world:
At the Venice Boat Show in June they debuted their Super Island Battery Platform that enables a range of 200km (MI NM)
At July’s Monaco Energy Boat Challenge they triumphed over some stiff competition to win the 16 Nautical Mile Race
In early August they announced that they would be the latest high powered electric outboard able to plug into the expanding Aqua superPower Network of high speed DC chargers and
September saw the Portugal launch of a Tideman Boats all-electric whale-watcher with ExploMar motors
Taiga, The world’s leading electric jetski maker, has expanded their ‘Orca’ line up with the unveiling of the next-generation WX3 model featuring a slew of advances, both inside and out.
Inside, there is the high efficiency battery technology the company recently announced, along with high speed charging capabilities. In a first for the segment the WX3 also has bi-directional charging do your waterbike can double up as a ‘floating battery’.
Launched last year (2024), at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Innovation Route showcases the boating and yachting world’s latest initiatives in technology geared towards sustainability and ecological transition. This year the Festival took things a step further by creating the Innovation Route Awards to recognize the most promising projects among the 40 selected for the Route. Those 40 were in turn distilled from 120 submissions and the Award-winning entries are truly the cream of the crop, selected by a Jury of 6 industry experts:
